Black dogs are hard to photograph

A new book of found photography, In Almost Every Picture #9: Black Dog, documents one family’s struggle to get a good shot of their favorite black dog. Gizmodo readers responded to news of this book with their own photos of dark colored pets, and some tips:

1. Contrast and get them while the’re distracted. Like when they are playing Xbox.

2. Use yourself as a backdrop.

3. Drape the animal with reflective material.

4. Cover them in sand.
