This weekend at the KPA reunion in Binghamton, I fell in love. His name was Bubba. He is a four-month-old pitbull who was found in a dumpster down south.
Bubba was rescued by Rescue-A-Bull, a new pitbull rescue resource. (I’d love to compile a list of some active pitbull rescue groups in the US, if anyone would like to share one please do so in the comments.)
My relationship with Bubba was a one-sided love affair. He had his pick of girls. He went home with a beautiful blond trainer from Cortland Manner, dog trainer Lisa Jonassen. She has been fostering him. He is now 4-months old.
Bubba needs a permanent home. If you’re interested in filling out an adoption application, visit Rescue-A-Bull.org.

It’s good to see that he’s doing so well. My wife and I fostered him for a few weeks on his trip north. He really was just a chubby, hairless piglet when we had him. I see that he still has that wrinkly, old man forehead. I’m glad that his belly isn’t as chubby as it used to be. He’s cute.

The two best pitbull rescues I can think of are:
- Animal Farm Foundation in Hudson, NY (http://www.animalfarmfoundation.org/)
- Out of the Pits in Albany, NY (http://www.outofthepits.org/)
I’ve met people from both and they are legit!
