I’ll be honest: I don’t follow politics much. Until we can set up some kind of Walden Two-esque government, I will continue to vote as I always have: For the handsomest man (Obama v sCheney, Anyone vs Bush, Clinton vs Anyone). I’m also more of a dog person than a cat person (obvi). For these reasons, I have not spent much time considering the political career of Hank, the cat who is running for Virginia senate. (See his oddly humorless site, Hank For Senate).
However, I did today notice that this negative campaign against him was made by the Canines For A Feline Free Tomorrow Super PAC! I think their mission is misguided. There’s room for both cats and dogs in this world. Even cats who’ve done cat nip, like Hank may or may not have. But I’m just really glad that there are finally some Super PACs made up of dogs. This can only lead to improvement in the electoral process.
Says NY Mag’s Dan Amira: “Hank is going to respond by laying down in a sunny part of the windowsill for about four hours.”
